For over a decade, Magenda had established itself as one of Patras’ most recognized nightlife destinations. Its relocation to a larger venue, housed in the landmark King George building in the heart of the city, marked the beginning of a new chapter — and a new architectural vision.

The design concept was driven by a simple yet meaningful idea: to bring the familiar feeling of home into an entirely new nightlife experience.

Inspired by the motto “Your Home Is Back,” the architectural approach sought to preserve the welcoming character and identity that had defined Magenda over the years, while introducing a more sophisticated, contemporary expression.

The design brings together the building’s classical architectural elements and a modern interior language. Traditional Greek references are reinterpreted through contemporary detailing, creating an intentional dialogue between the character of the existing architecture and the energy of the new venue.

Custom-designed bookcases, bespoke wall treatments, textured surfaces and carefully integrated lighting define the interior. Concealed lighting enhances the architectural features, while layered lighting compositions create depth, contrast and atmosphere throughout the space.

One of the most distinctive interventions is the staircase, transformed into an architectural focal point through a striking glass waterfall feature and sculptural lighting.

Every detail was considered as part of a unified design concept, from the entrance and circulation areas to the main nightlife space, where architectural elements and dynamic lighting come together to shape the overall experience.

The result is a contemporary reinterpretation of Magenda — a familiar identity expressed through a new architectural language, where heritage, design and nightlife meet.
